The first event on the schedule was the €230 buy-in Amateur Championship Of Poker (ACOP). It attracted 616 players who created a €123,200 prize pool that was shared among the top 79 finishers.
You may be wondering what a seasoned professional such as Black was doing playing in an amateur event, but the tournament was open to everyone. Black sniffed out the value and joined the party.
Black’s decision to flick in the €230 proved to be a moment of genius because he first navigated his way to the final table before securing all the chips in play.

Konstantin Teresko was the first casualty of the nine-handed final table. The €2,080 Terenko won is the first recorded live cash on his Hendon Mob page.
Teresko gained some company on the rail when Eoin O’Shea and Ciaran Burke busted out. Burke now has more than $200,000 in live poker tournament cashes thanks to the €3,810 he picked up here.
Andrew Doona, Charlie Porter, and Kurt Suarez all fell by the wayside, the latter scooping €8,280 for his €230 investment, the largest prize of his career to date. Suarez’ exit left three players in contention to become the tournament’s champion and that trio paused the tournament clock to strike a deal.
Those discussions proved fruitful and the remaining players guaranteed themselves more than €15,000.
Igor Matias fell in third and banked €15,235, which left Black and Sean Foley to lock horns heads-up for the title and the winner’s trophy. Black used his vastly superior experience, plus his trademark run good, to good use and he despatched of Foley in second-place.
Foley walked away with €15,585. This is Foley’s largest live score, surpassing the €14,170 he collected for a fourth-place finish in the €300 IPO Dublin Main Event last October.
This victory for Black, the 14th recorded on his Hendon Mob profile, was worth €18,150 which takes his total live winnings ever closer to the magic $5 million mark.

Irish Poker Open 2020 Schedule 2020
The €570 European Deepstack Main Event had a popular champion when Richard O’Neill outlasted 415 opponents to get his hands on €32,450 after a four-handed deal. The result was €100 short of equalling O’Neill’s largest live poker tournament prize.
Forty-seven players saw a return on their investment, including Ivan Tononi, Ronan Sweeney, Irish legend Wilhelmine Connolly, and German World Series of Poker bracelet winner Ismael Bojang. Bojang fell in 13th place for a €3,050 score.
The United Kingdom’s Masud Prodham busted from the final table in ninth-place. Barry Dovovan, Frederik Cuyt and Iceland’s Oskar Jonsson joined Prodhan on the rail.
Each of the final five were now guaranteed at least a five-figure prize.
India’s Ankit Ahuja ran out of steam and had to make do with the €12,200 fifth-place prize. His exit resulted in the final four players striking a deal for the remaining prize pool.
